How does septic system installation work for a new home in Macomb County?
Michigan has no statewide septic code, so the Macomb County Health Department sets the rules here. It runs a soil evaluation, often called a perc test, and issues the permit only after an acceptable result. The county asks for a backhoe on site for that evaluation. Once the permit is issued, we install the system to it and coordinate the county inspection.
When does a septic system need replacing instead of repair?
The Macomb County Health Department warns that failing systems are often impossible to repair and must be replaced. Watch for wet spots or odors over the drain field, backups, slow drains and gurgling pipes. A broken baffle or a cracked pipe may only need septic system repair. We check the whole system, then put repair or replacement in writing.
How do you price a septic system or other job?
We price each job after we see the site, and the free estimate comes to you in writing. Septic prices turn on the soil evaluation, the system the county requires, the access and the restoration. Other jobs turn on the size, the depth, the access and the surfaces we restore. On septic work, the county charges its own fees for the soil evaluation and the permit.
Do you replace sewer lines from the house to the main?
Yes, we replace sewer laterals by open trench and set the new pipe on proper bedding and slope. Required tests are done and documented before backfill. A camera inspection shows whether the pipe needs a repair or full sewer line replacement. A plumber or drain cleaner clears a simple clog, and we fix the pipe itself when it has failed.
Do you do excavation for builders and general contractors?
Yes. We work with general contractors and direct clients across Metro Detroit. Our excavation and site work covers grading, trenching, foundation and basement digs, and site prep for slabs and drives. Michigan law requires a MISS DIG 811 notice at least 3 business days before digging, and we place it.
Do you pour concrete and pave asphalt too?
Yes. We pour concrete driveways, stamped and exposed aggregate work, foundations, steps and commercial flatwork. We also handle asphalt paving for driveways, parking lots, cart paths and private roads. Every pour or paving job starts with the sub-base and the grade, and we do that work too.
Do you build inground pools?
Yes. Our inground pool installation covers design, excavation, a gunite or shotcrete shell, coping, tile, plaster, decking and start-up. Most residential inground pools take about 8 to 12 weeks from permit approval to water. We also renovate and resurface existing pools.
