Delpres Services handles water main and water service line installation across Macomb County and the rest of Metro Detroit. We make new water service connections and take on water line replacement, lead lines included. We also replace water mains for residential and commercial properties and for municipal water systems. When a pipe breaks, we make the water main repair or water line repair.
Each job starts with a dig, so it draws on our excavation and site work. Mini-excavators fit tight yards, and full-size equipment handles deep work. The pipe goes in on bedding, and required testing is done and documented before final backfill. Sewer laterals have their own page: sewer line replacement and repair.
Tell us about the septic, sewer, excavation or concrete work and where it is. We look at the job and put a free estimate in writing.
A water service line is the pipe that connects your home to the water main. Signs of a break can include low water pressure or water pooling in the front yard. A soggy or sinking spot in the lawn is another sign.
We replace failing service lines with new pipe and restore the yard afterward. For new homes and commercial buildings, we make new water service connections. The local water department sets the rules for a new tap, and we build to them.
Michigan's drinking water rules require water supplies to replace lead service lines at the supply's expense, the private side included. The rule also covers galvanized lines that are or were connected to lead. The standard schedule started in January 2021. It averages 5 percent of those lines a year, with all of them replaced within 20 years.
Each water supply keeps an inventory of service line materials on public and private property. In Romeo, the village checks a line from outside with small holes on each side of the curb box. If you think your line is lead, ask your water department what its records show before you plan any work.
If the supply does not own the whole line, it needs the building owner's consent for a planned replacement. It must give notice at least 45 days before the replacement starts.
A water main runs under or along the street and feeds each service line on it. Not every road has one. Many Macomb County residents and small businesses rely on wells, the county health department notes. We replace aging mains and repair broken mains and lines for private sites and municipal water systems.
Michigan law requires a call to MISS DIG 811 at least three business days before a dig. When we do the work, that call is ours. Locators mark the utility companies' lines, but private lines go unmarked. We check for conflicts before the first cut.
On a new build, the water service is one piece of the underground work. We also handle septic system installation where there is no sewer, plus storm drains and catch basins for the site.

We call MISS DIG 811 for utility locates before any digging. On septic jobs, we line up our work with the county's soil evaluation and inspections.
We dig to spec with equipment sized to the site. Then the work goes in to the approved plan or the agreed scope.
After the required tests and inspections, we backfill and restore what we dug up. Lawns get topsoil and seed or sod, and paved areas get new concrete or asphalt.
