Sewer Line Repair
We repair and replace failing sewer laterals from the house to the main, and install new sewer connections. A camera inspection shows the pipe's condition first.

Lenox Township is mostly farm country, with the village of New Haven in its south-central part. Sewer serves New Haven and runs along Gratiot Avenue and part of 26 Mile. Beyond those lines, homes rely on septic systems in heavy, poorly drained soil. When a drain field fails out there, there is no sewer line to switch to.
Delpres Services is based in Harrison Township, and Lenox Township is part of our service area. We install new septic systems and replace failing ones as part of our septic system installation across Macomb County. We place the tank, lay out the drain field, coordinate the county inspections and restore the yard. Call (877) 633-5773 for a free estimate.

The township's 2026 master plan lays out the split. Township sewer runs along Gratiot and along 26 Mile east of Gratiot. Township water reaches about 3,000 people, mainly along the Gratiot corridor and east to County Line Road. New Haven runs its own water and sewer systems for the village.
The 2020 Census counted 12,119 people in the township, and about half of them live in New Haven. Farms and rural homes cover about 70 percent of the land outside the village. The plan sets a two-acre minimum parcel for homes in those farm areas. Most homes there run their own septic systems and, where no water main runs, their own wells.
Census permit data show 10 new single-family homes outside the village in 2025, and 20 inside New Haven. By Census estimates, the median home here dates to 1998, and 28 percent predate 1980. The plan steers commercial growth to land that already has sewer and water. It wants denser neighborhoods on public water and sewer too.
Lenox Township sits on mostly flat, poorly drained ground. The USDA soil survey maps Ziegenfuss clay and Nappanee clay loam across about 30 percent of the township. It rates about 97 percent of the land as very limited for septic drain fields. Across nine-tenths of the township, the water table rises within a foot of the surface part of the year.
Michigan has no statewide septic code, so the Macomb County Health Department sets the rules here. Its Environmental Health Services division runs a soil evaluation, often called a perc test, before it issues a permit. The county wants a backhoe on site for that test, and we can do that dig. It sets the appointment only after MISS DIG clears the site for digging.
The permit is the owner's, and the application needs a professionally prepared site plan. That plan shows the system and a reserve area for a future drain field. Some lots need an engineered system, which the county reviews as a separate plan. We build to the permit and backfill only after the county inspection passes.
Macomb County requires a septic and well evaluation before a sale closes on any property that relies on them. County staff or a private evaluator does the work, with the tank pumped while the evaluator is on site. An evaluation stays valid for one year.
Every Lenox Township home on a septic system faces that check when it sells. The county's own pamphlet warns that failing systems are often impossible to repair and must be replaced. When a system can be saved, our septic and drain field repair covers broken baffles and failing fields. When it cannot, we quote a new system in writing.
Problems often show up before a sale does. The county's pamphlet lists odors, wet spots over the drain field, backups, slow drains and gurgling pipes. It also says to keep downspouts and sump pumps off the system.
Where township or village sewer runs, we handle sewer line replacement and new connections. Required tests are done and documented before backfill. The township or the village sets the tap and inspection steps for each connection.
The township's 2025 water quality report counts about 200 service lines on its system, all copper and none lead. Where the township main runs, we install new water service connections and replace failed lines. The well on a rural lot is a well driller's job.
Flat ground drains slowly, so grading matters on every build. The township reviews the final grade, and it reviews again until the grade passes. FEMA maps flood zones along the Salt River as it runs south through the township and New Haven. Our excavation and grading covers basement digs, utility trenches, pool digs and site prep for slabs and drives.
